Brief History Of Stima Sacco

Waumini Sacco is now about 28 years old because it was launched and registered in 1974. It boasts about 154,000 members who are active and also has assets that are worth billions. This Sacco is also registered as a Deposit Taking Sacco(DTS) which is legally registered by Sasra.

Who Can Join Stima Sacco

When it was started back in 1974, it was for workers of Kenya Power and Lightning company, as the name suggests. Over the years, it has made it possible for other members of the public to join Stima Sacco. As of 2022, anyone can join Stima Sacco.

You can join Stima Sacco either as

• an Individual
• a joint membership
• a group
• a cooperate

Benefits Of Joining Stima Sacco

Stima Sacco has made lots of changes and improved its service delivery to ensure that it is one of the best Saccos in Kenya. Some of their big steps in making this possible include;

1. Being among the first Saccos in Kenya to be approved by Sasra as a Deposit Taking Sacco.
2. They have developed their own application, which brings their services and products closer to you.
3. It also boasts of being the first Sacco in Kenya to offer instant ATM services to its members. Cool right?
4. Its products and services are also well-modified to be Shariah-compliant.

How To Join Stima Sacco

How To Join Stima DT Sacco As An Individual

To register yourself with Stima Sacco as an individual you will need to have the following documents with you;

• A copy of your National Identity Card(ID) or Passport.
• A filled copy of the Membership application form, which you can get from any Stima Sacco Branch, or by clicking here (Safe Google Drive link).
• A passport-sized photograph.
• A copy of your KRA certificate
• Membership fee of Ksh. 500 which is a must-have requirement.

How To Join Stima Sacco As A Group(Chamas)

If you are part of a Chama or group, having at least 4 members, and want to be part of Stima Sacco, you will be required to have the following;

• A well-filled group or corporate member application form. You can get one from their website, or by clicking here for a direct download.
• You should have a copy of your Chama’s/group registration certificate.
• To show that you all agreed to join Stima Sacco, you should have written minutes from the meeting you held where you all consented to join the Sacco.
• Authorized signatories representing the group should attach their copies of ID cards, KRA pins and recent passport photos.
• List of the names of the registered group members.
•  A registration fee of Ksh. 500.

Groups in this category include chamas, self-help groups etc.

How To Join Stima Sacco As A Corporate Entity.

To join as a corporate, you will need the following;

• A well-filled corporate or group membership application form. Click here to download it.
• A document showing the corporate director’s decision to join Stima Sacco.
• A copy of your corporate certificate of incorporation.
• Memorandum of Articles of association for the corporation.
• The directors will also submit copies of their documents(ID card, KRA certificate, Passport photo etc).
• A KRA certificate copy of the corporate.
