How To Pay KPLC Bill Via Mpesa(For Pre-Paid Users(Those who use Tokens))

For this method, we will be using Paybill number 888880

1. Grab your phone and access your App Menu.
2. Look for your Safaricom Toolkit
3. Select Mpesa option
4. Select “Lipa na M-Pesa”
5. Choose Pay Bill. Then select “Enter Business No”
6. Enter the Business number “888880”. Then press “OK”
7. Enter your KPLC meter number as the account number. Press OK
8. Enter the number of tokens you want to procure from KPLC.
9. Enter your Mpesa pin then press OK
10. You will see a USSD prompt asking you to confirm. Confirm the details and press OK.
11. You will receive a confirmation from Safaricom showing that your transaction was successful.
12. KPLC will send you tokens through SMS.

Note: Ensure that you enter the correct KPLC meter number. If you enter the wrong details,the tokens will not function on your KPLC Meter.

How To Pay KPLC Bill Via Mpesa(For Post-Pay Users)

This method is almost similar to the other one for buying KPLC tokens via Mpesa. The only difference is we will be using the Pay Bill Number 888888;

1. Access your phone’s App Menu.
2. Look for your Safaricom Toolkit.
3. Select the Mpesa option.
4. Like the previous method, select “Lipa na M-Pesa”
5. Choose the option “Pay Bill”, then select “Enter Business No”
6. Enter Business number “888888”. Then press “OK”
7. Enter your KPLC meter number as the account number. Press OK
8. Enter the amount of token you want to buy.
9. Enter your Mpesa pin and press OK
10. Confirm your details and press OK.

Please ensure that you have checked and you know the exact amount your KPLC bill is. This will prevent instances where you might overpay or overpay. You can check your Kenya Power bill by using the KPLC app, which is free, only needs you to have an active data bundles bill.

How To Check Your KPLC Bill

To check your power bill using the Kenya Power and Lighting app, follow these very simple steps below;

1. Open the google play store and search for KPLC.
2. You will see the MyPower app, click and install it.
3. Open the app after installation.
4. Click on the first option, which is the My Bill/My Token.
5. Enter the account number or the Meter number.
