Most people know that the only way you can project your laptop to your tv is through the use of the popular HDMI cable. Today I will show you some other ways you can use to project laptop screens to tv.
Ways You Can Project laptop screen to tv
There are several ways to project your laptop’s screen to a TV, and the method used will depend on your laptop and TV model and the type of connection you have available. Here are some common methods you can use:
HDMI Cable:
Using your HDMI cable to project your laptop screen to your TV is the most popular method that is used widely. This method is the easiest of the methods and anyone can easily do it. If your laptop and TV both have an HDMI port, you can use an HDMI cable to connect them. Simply connect one end of the cable to the HDMI port on your laptop and the other end to the HDMI port on your TV.

Wireless Display:
This next method is not available for all laptops out there, because you will require to connect your laptop via software, or drives like Miracast, which is not available on all Laptops. You will also be required to have both your devices, the laptop and the Tv, on the same network.
If your laptop and TV support a wireless display standard such as Miracast or AirPlay, you can connect them wirelessly. To do this, you will need to put your TV in screen mirroring mode and then use the wireless display feature on your laptop to connect to the TV.

Chromecast:
For all those using Chromecast, or if you have Chrome browser installed on your device, this method is for you. If your TV has a Chromecast built-in or you have a Chromecast device, you can use the Google Cast feature on your laptop to stream content to your TV. You also have to connect both devices to the same network.
When using the Chrome browser, you get an option of casting your browser window only or casting your entire screen. One downside of using this method is that you can use it to project movies or games to your tv screen, especially if you have a bad network. So it is not as effective as using an HDMI cable.

Cable Adapter:
Not all laptops have an HDMI port. If your laptop and TV do not have an HDMI port, you may be able to use a cable adapter to connect them. For example, you can use a DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter to connect a laptop with a DisplayPort to a TV with an HDMI port. These adapters can be bought in online markets like Jumia in Kenya, or Amazon.
Streaming Device:
If none of the above options is available, you can use a streaming device such as a Roku or Amazon Fire Stick to stream content from your laptop to your TV. These options might cost you extra cash from your pocket. Regardless of the method you use, you’ll need to make sure that both your laptop and TV are turned on and set to the correct input before you can start projecting your laptop’s screen to the TV.
