Step 4: Release the microphone icon to end the recording
When you are done recording your voice message, release the microphone icon. The recording will automatically be sent to the recipient of the message. If you want to listen to the recording before sending it, you can tap on the play icon that appears after the recording.
I Can’t Find The Voice Message’s Microphone Icon
If you don’t see a microphone icon, you can use the keyboard. Swipe right on your keyboard, to reveal the hidden microphone icon and follow the above steps to record and send your voice message.
That’s it! Your voice message will now be sent to the recipient of the message. They will be able to listen to it by tapping on the play icon in the message thread. Keep in mind that, depending on the recipient’s device, they may have to have the latest version of iOS or iMessage to be able to listen to your voice message.

If you choose to share your message via text message or email, you can select recipients from your contacts list. If you choose to share your message via social media, you will be prompted to sign in to your account and select the platform on which you want to share your message.
