This process is free of charge. The recipient will choose to either call you or not. One particular situation in which this can be useful is when your child at school wants to talk to you, they can just use their teacher’s phone to send you a please call request and you could call back later.
The only thing you have to have is the recipient’s number in order to send a request. Also, please note that the service will only work on Telkom to Telkom numbers. For example, you won’t be able to send it from Telkom to Vodacom.
How Many Requests You Can Send In A Day
You can only send a maximum of 5 Please call me requests using the Telkom Mobile USSD code. So ensure you preserve your Please Call Me request to only use them when it is extremely necessary, or when you are in an emergency.
Disadvantages of Sending Please Call Me
While this is a good Telkom Product for their users in South Africa, the major disadvantage is that some people, especially those who are busy, don’t really look at Text messages every time, and this can be a problem especially when you are in an emergency because they might see the Telkom Please call me request when its too late.
On top of this, if someone has not saved, or is not familiar with the number you used to send the Please call me a request using the Telkom USSD code, they might not call back, not knowing who you are. Therefore it is only better if you use a number the recipient is familiar with.
